Brown-Saltman Mid-Century EXPANDABLE Slat Coffee Table or Bench in La Habra, California For Sale

This Mid-Century modern or Danish Modern slat bench/coffee table was produced by Brown-Saltman in California, in the xxxxs. When compressed it is 55" wide, but it will expand easily and smoothly to an incredible 96" wide (8 feet!) -- one of the longest made. Of course, it can be expanded to any desired length in between. Customize the length to meet your needs and available space. Use it as a table, or as a bench, or both. It's very heavy and its 8 tapered, hardwood legs make it very solid and sturdy. Other dimensions are 18" deep by 12" high.
This unique piece would look great in and be a valuable addition to any Mid-Century, Eames era, Danish Modern décor.
It was purchased new, and used over 50 years by one owner in a smoke-free home. As pictured, there are age-appropriate scuffs and scratches in the wood on the sides and legs. Underneath a couple stains are visible, but the top remains in very good condition with no stains. Structurally, it's in excellent shape--just needs some TLC to restore its wood finish back to its original luster.
